"We could not ask for a more beautiful place to stay! The cottage has been renovated to an exceptional standard and has everything you could need. The views across the valley are outstanding and it is a pleasure to walk the country roads surrounded by beautiful countryside. On arrival, we were met with a lovely welcome pack including wine, biscuits, fresh bread, butter and milk in the fridge and even treats for the dog (which she has thoroughly enjoyed!) Our hosts, Andy and Vanessa are so pleasant and friendly and have made us feel very welcome. They have gone above and beyond to make us comfortable - nothing is too much trouble. We would highly recommend staying at these cottages!"

"Interesting visit at the Nuthampstead Airfield Museum, followed by refreshments at the Woodsman’s Inn. Beautiful walks through the village. No improvements we can think off- perfect as it is. We enjoyed the beautiful green scenery and the warmth of the people in the village."

"There are some fantastic walks and cycle rides in the local area, and if you have children they'll enjoy all the local geo-caching routes. Further afield there is lots to see and do in Saffron Walden and Cambridge, as well as Duxford which is close by. The house was extremely clean when we arrived and has everything you could possibly need."

"We were blown away by the cottages. We didn't expect so much to be put in each cottage (e.g. crisps, chocolates, cereals) so that was wonderful! If it was mentioned on the website it would have saved us bringing a couple of things, but also completely understand that it might set the expectation that things would be left, it's a difficult balance. It was very much appreciated anyway so it's a tiny thing! Everything about the booking process was smooth, everyone we spoke to was lovely, and the cottages themselves were absolutely perfect for our needs - clean, spacious, welcoming and comfortable. "Great location if you want to be in the peaceful Countryside but with great amenities and activities close by. The Host's were more than approachable and nothing was too much for them to help us or answer any of our questions. Very friendly and welcoming. We stayed in The Stable and was greeted with a lovely box of goodies. The accommodation was spotless and appeared to be in new condition. Bed comfortable and all appliances and kitchen items had been thought of. Fully stocked. We had a fabulous stay and definitely will be returning as soon as possible. Thank you Vanessa and Clare."

"Our family group stayed in the Piggery and Cow Shed for two nights as we were attending a wedding nearby. The accommodation is spacious and light, very clean, well thought-out, and the hosts left some very kind welcome gifts in the kitchen including wine and chocolate. The views over the countryside are stunning and it's very peaceful. Booking and other communication with Claire was very smooth and friendly. Highly recommended!"

"We played two rounds of golf on a fantastic 74 course at Barkway Park Golf Club in beautiful sunshine and went for two long walks along the public footpaths of the area. Really beautiful nature, landscape and stunning scenery and we felt like some characters in English literature. Everything in the roomy and spacious cottage is nice and well thought out but for us the bathroom with mixer taps and a modern shower was highly appreciated because we have seen so many crazy creations in England even in 5 star hotels the bathroom facilities were a catastrophe. We could relax in the tranquility of the place. We'll definitely recommend the cottage to our friends and customers and we'll be back on our next family visit to Saffron Walden."

"Had a fantastic couple of days at the Stables whilst some building work was done. It was so cosy and comfortable and everything was wonderfully thought through. I might be making up some more building work to be able to come back! Everything worked perfectly and we had such a warm welcome whilst also just being able to get on with the realities of looking after a little toddler! The toddler spent a lot of time just staring at the view - particularly sunrise which was so beautiful."

"We had the most wonderful 3 week stay in the Piggery whilst "in between" houses. The accommodation is very comfortable, well equipped and generous in size. The location is wonderful and the view just breathtaking - we enjoyed our morning coffee and evening sundowners on the decking overlooking the valley between Langley Upper Green and Langley Lower Green (accompanied by the horses , free range chickens and abundance of wild life!). There were plenty of walks around the area, and a nice gentle 8 min stroll to the local pub (The Bull). Your hosts - Andy and Vanessa - together with Millie and Claire - were so welcoming and helpful. Nothing is too much for them. We would most definitely recommend Langley Farm Cottages - we were genuinely sad to leave."

"My husband and I stayed in the Piggery at Langley Farm Cottages with our young son for six weeks whilst waiting for our house sale to complete, and it was an absolute delight. The cottages are beautifully finished and very comfortable, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Our son loved being in the rural countryside and was thrilled to spot horses, chickens and tractors - in fact, it's going to be difficult to tell him we won't be bringing the chickens with us! The owners, Andy and Vanessa, were so kind and helpful, in every way the perfect hosts. Langley Farm Cottages is a gem for a short stay and a haven for a longer term let too, we would highly recommend it to anyone local or otherwise."

"We stayed in The Piggery, the largest of the three holiday cottages. It has a very spacious master bedroom and a second large double with twin beds, a family bathroom and a beautiful kitchen / diner / living area with beams and plentiful space. All of the rooms face out on to the gorgeous countryside view, and so waking in the morning, wherever you are in the property, the view is there to greet you and enjoy. Everything in The Piggery is done to an exceptional standard. The beds are luxurious, and combined with a dark and peaceful countryside setting, you will sleep very well here. All the fixtures and fittings throughout are solid and made to last and there is loads of storage. We stayed for four months and had more than enough storage (and we brought all our clothes and everyday necessities). The holiday home is furnished with everything you need, with a fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher and washing machine. The large terrace outside is the perfect place to sit and enjoy the view, which is expansive and good for the soul. The local area is perfect for walkers, cyclists or those who enjoy a delicious pub lunch (with loads of local country pubs). It's a stunning part of Essex, hilly giving amazing views around every country lane. The accomodation, the horses, the chickens, the carp in the lake, THAT view, the beautiful local area all combine to make your stay here perfect. Vanessa and Andy are perfect hosts and are always on hand to help. Highly recommend. 10 out of 10. We loved it. The Kirbys"

"We booked two weeks in Langley Farm Cottages and ended up extending it to 9 weeks. Which proves how much we enjoyed our stay. Our cottage was 'The Stables': a superbly comfortable refurbishment in which we were the first guests: televisions in the lounge and bedroom, a bathroom with even a walk in shower, a superb kitchen fitted with mainly Bosch equipment (including a Tassimo coffee machine), and a spacious, airy lounge area. What made the place even more special are the views: looking out over the paddock (with an ex polo pony) and the surrounding fields as far as the eye could see! With a huge sky surrounding us with ever changing clouds. Wonderful walks through the front of the farm, past the wheat fields and pond, reaching even to Langley Lower Green with its charming pub. And very caring hosting from the farm owners. If you want a peaceful retreat in absolutely beautiful countryside, highly recommended. Ten out of ten stars."

Great for privacy with their electric gates and many great restaurants/shops near by for any needs. The sun was on our side which made the stay even more special but the smart TV’s helped out with those rainy days. Look forward to visiting again soon.”

It was fascinating to watch how the huge sky and its clouds changed hour by hour, let alone day by day. Wonderful walks around the front of the farm, past the wheatfields and pond, reaching even to Langley Lower Green with its charming pub. Being in such beautiful countryside was a real gift to us Londoners. Andy and Vanessa proved to be wonderful hosts, kind and very caring to every need. And a big thank you to Milly for arranging everything so well. Highly recommended. 15 stars out of 10!"
